The position of Governor DIY and the Deputy Governor DIY was extended 3 years


The position of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and Sri Paku Alam IX as the Governor and Vice-Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) extended after the President dismissed the decision that will be handed over by the Minister For Home Affairs (Mr. Mardiyanto) on Wednesday (Oct.8). Mr. Mardiyanto stated that the extension of tenure of Sri Sultan and Paku Alam longest three years. Mardiyanto stated that the meeting with the Indonesian President (Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) was quite special discussed the term of service of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and Sri Paku AlamaIX as the Governor and Vice-Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region for the period 2003 until 2008 that ended this October 9 2008. Sri Sultan stressed will receive and did not discuss the extension of the term of office with the Paku Alam IX as the Governor and Vice-Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region provided that not beyond five years. According to the Sultan, a period of five years have been one count period.

ALL COMPLETELY CHOCOLATE - STARTS BODY PAINTING TO FASHION SHOW

THE AUSTRIAN AMBASSADOR MET THE GOVERNOR OF YOGYAKARTA SPECIAL REGION


To follow up a co-operation the Sister Province between the Tyrol Province, Austria and the Yogyakarta Province, the Austrian ambassador to Indonesia, Klaus Wolfer on Wednesday, 13/2 made the visit to Governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X in Gedhong Willis, the Kepatihan (Submissiveness) Yogyakarta complex.

Apart from discussed about continuation of the Sister Province work, the Austrian Ambassador asked how the handling of the DIY Government after the earthquake that happened almost 2 (two) last year.

Governor said that at that time was accompanied by the Secretary of the area and the Head of the Bureau of the Setda DIY Co-operation, Drs. Nur Sharir Rahardjo, explained that the reconstruction stage and rehabilitation to the building that was destroyed because this disaster has been finished all of them, only remained at the handling for paralysed casualties or the defect.
Governor of DIY this coming May 2008, will visit to Kyoto to study how the handling post the earthquake because they had experienced him. Moreover, between Kyoto and DIY then also has been established by Sister Province that for quite a long time.

THE CURRICULUM OF GAJAH MADA UNIVERSITY, FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE WOULD HAVING INTERNATIONAL STANDARD


The Vice-Dean Faculty of Agriculture UGM of academic and research field, Dr. Sri Peni Wastutiningsih said that every curriculum intrinsically must open to critic and gradually transform.

For the agenda of correcting education curriculum of agriculture, the side of Faculty of Agriculture UGM has invited some expert of agriculture from Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and France, to give related input of development of the existing agriculture field.

Present as a speaker in this workshop are Prof. Teruo Maeda from Hiroshima University, Japan; from National University of Kangnung South Korea; Prof Tran Van Hai from Chan Tho University, Vietnam; Dr Jean Piere Caliman from CIRAD, France.

Dr. Jean Piere Caliman in his presentation submitting needs the existence of curriculum concerning three things, sustainability, and wise management, organic and of farming.

Meanwhile, Prof Dr Jeong is more highlighting about addition of the courses object is being based on practical skill to add the ability and skill of agriculture graduate. The addition of ability in practical skill can be done by following apprentice during 3 month or to one year, by fund from campus or sponsor.

Relates to addition of education of this practice, Penny in agreement, because till now student lack of practical skill.

REGIONAL TAX REVENUES OF YOGYAKARTA CITY BEYOND THE TARGET

During 2007, realization of the Regional Tax Revenue of Yogyakarta city managed by Regional Tax Service Office of Yogyakarta city beyond target specified reaches 113, 46% or reaches Rp 90.627.110.341, beyond the target of Rp 79.874.000.000.

Achievement of target of these tax revenues not only at amounts of all target, but at every tax type entirely can exceed target specified with amounts of reaching 104-129%.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES WILL OPERATE IN YOGYAKARTA


On February 1ST coming, Malaysian Airlines (MAS) will open air transport route of Jogja-Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur-Jogja. Air transport schedule will be planned three of times within a week, on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Air transport of MH 858 will apply airplane Boeing 737-400 departs from Yogyakarta at 11:40 AM and arrives at Kuala Lumpur at 15:05 PM, and air transport departures of MH 857 of Kuala Lumpur at 09:20 AM and arrives at 10:15 AM in Yogyakarta.

The flight will use two configuration classes that is 128 economy and 16 business class. In the international flight route, Malaysia Airlines offers lowest price ticket vise-versa at cost USD 106 not including tax and or other charge, and sold through sale office of MAS or travel agent in Yogyakarta from all Indonesia.

Tazbir (The Head of Tourism Department of Yogyakarta) said that his side has done coordination with various party/sides either with the organizer Adisutjipto Airport and also with tourism perpetrator to prepare re-opened those international flight. Tazbir adds that at this January-February,Yogyakarta will open two international flight firms that are Malaysian Airlines and Air Asia. Dzulkefli Zakaria (Malaysia Airlines Area Manager Indonesia) said that MAS has operated air transport from towns in Indonesia like Jakarta, Medan, Denpasar and Surabaya to Malaysia with connection more than 100 destinations in the world.

With existence of two foreign firms of that, we hope it can give many contributions at development of tourism of Yogyakarta. This is direct support for Visit Indonesia Year 2008 program.
